Rooted deep in family history, this house was built in 1972 by the homeowners grandpa and has sheltered three generations. This family was ready to make this space their own and asked our team to breathe new life into the old structure.
We completed a comprehensive renovation of the upper, main, and mezzanine levels of the home. We removed the wall dividing the primary communal spaces: living room, dining room, and kitchen. We transformed a once-small sun porch into a more expansive main living and dining space, modified the once-cramped closets to provide more space and utility, and overhauled the primary bathroom and closet, enhancing their functionality and aesthetic. We also repurposed the pre-existing garage into a contemporary home office, and added on a fresh outdoor patio space.
While the home is fondly referred to as "the farmhouse”, the homeowners envisioned a more modern, less rustic feel. The final design brings freshness to the space and prominently features some of their favorite shades of turquoise and teal. Vintage touches like hexagonal black and white tiles and a pre-existing clawfoot tub were seamlessly integrated.
Now, this family has a harmonious mix of boho and organic elements to create a modern, warm, and inviting family home, echoing its history while being perfectly suited for the present.
