Charming Farmhouse Transformation: First Floor & Exterior

Description

The homeowners initially approached TrueSon to transform the exterior of their family farmhouse. We installed a white metal roof, complete with a snow guard, to complement the existing brick. The expansive composite deck with a custom powder-coated handrail is the crown jewel of the exterior work, and the under-decking system allows the use of the patio below, even when it’s rainy outside.

Indoors, we tackled most of the main floor, starting with the powder room, updating the flooring throughout, and removing the wall between the kitchen and the office. This created an open-concept kitchen, living, and dining space, complete with a large center island for gathering and entertaining.

The homeowners prioritized using space wisely, and we enhanced the kitchen with several unique, functional features. We installed toe-kick drawers at the base of the custom cabinets to maximize storage for cookie sheets and utensils, complemented the design with granite countertops, and finished it off with high-end appliances for a classic, clean look.

In the living room, we used a solid piece of walnut from the homeowners’ farm for their new fireplace mantel. Hung alongside the cream-colored stone, it echoes the warmth of the built-in cabinetry and floating shelves.
