New Year, New Windows!

If you’ve been thinking of making some changes to your home around upcoming tax season, now is the perfect time to start getting estimates! Here at TrueSon Exteriors, we do a lot of window installation, and spring is just around the corner. With spring comes milder weather, which is the perfect time to replace windows.

Many people ask us what type of window is best for their homes. They don’t realize that there are several options out there, and each option has its own benefits. Vinyl, fiberglass, or wood, we can help you make the choice that is right for your home. And if you’re on a tight budget, we want you to know that you can always opt for a partial install. We are more than happy to walk through with you and start by replacing the windows that need it the most, while keeping the work within your budget.

TrueSon Exteriors Offers a Variety of Quality Windows

Vinyl Windows

For the most affordable bang for your buck, vinyl is the way to go. Low maintenance, well-insulated, and available in a variety of colors, vinyl windows are one of our most popular types of replacement windows.

Vinyl windows can last for over twenty years and may be as low as half the price of traditional wood windows. Additionally, vinyl won’t require much extra work, unlike wood windows. If you’re looking to replace windows and keep the cost low, vinyl may be the right choice for you.

Fiberglass Windows

For a step up in quality from vinyl, fiberglass offers a longer life span than the less expensive option. Fiberglass also expands and contracts at the same rate as glass, and since it’s a stronger material than vinyl, less material is necessary for the frame, which may give you more room for the glass pane.

Additionally, you can opt for a wood-clad option for your home if you like the look of wood windows, but don’t want to put in all the work to care for them over time. Fiberglass also has the benefit of being the most immune to extreme temperatures, which will give it the best thermal performance.

Aluminum clad, wood interior Windows

Last, we come to the classic, traditional, cozy look of a wood window. If you are in the historic district of your town, you may have no option other than wood, so keep that in mind when making decisions for all your home renovation needs. Wood has the widest range of options of all the windows and are considered to be the most beautiful. It’s worth mentioning that wood windows are also more easily modified to suit your tastes—if you want to re-stain them, you can at any time.

Wood windows typically have a long warranty and with exterior cladding, they are extremely durable. While fiberglass can be manipulated to look like wood, it’s never quite the same. Wood windows have a certain feel to them and add to the character of your home.

Although you will have to keep your wood windows maintained over the years, the beauty and dependability of wood may be worth it to you to spend the time caring for them.
At TrueSon, we want you to know that no matter what, installation is key for any type of window . No matter what the benefits of the type you choose, if the installation is lacking in any way, you may not see those benefits come to fruition. If you want solid installation at a fair price, we always do our best to make sure you get what you want.
